Palm Beach Winter Antiques Show
January 9 to 12, 2003
To Benefit the Historical Society of Palm Beach County
| The first donation to the Historical Society of Palm Beach County was made
in 1937. Today, the archives document the people, events and places of Palm Beach County
with photographs, manuscripts newspapers, architectural plans and archaeological
artifacts. The Society maintains a research facility and its collection is available to
the public especially through educational outreach programs in concert with community
organizations and the Palm Beach County School District.
The Palm Beach Winter Antiques Show, co-chaired by Sandra Krakoff and Inge Bowdre, chose as its theme Gracious Grandeur: The Heritage of Palm Beach and the architecture of Maurice Fatio. Maurice Fatio designed homes during the 1920s and 1930s and his work has contributed to style and elegance with his designs and by his selection of materials. Further information on Maurice Fatio may be found in a compilation of his correspondence published in Maurice Fatio, Architect, translated and edited by Alexandra Fatio, 1992.
